I am doing mathematics at Łódź University in Poland for the summer. While I am here I will write a little on this site, but it exists primarily for me to share pictures.

Meeting with Professor Filipczak

Dear Captivated Reader,

This is what we did today:

We did some math.

We found a little supermarket near our dorm. We still don't have a fridge, but we are getting good at buying exactly as much as we want to eat. We made both of our meals today: sandwiches and spaghetti. We have ambitious plans, all of which involve a trip to the market immediately before making the food. I guess Paul and Joey never got a fridge two years ago. We have still not been successful in buying salt and pepper.

We met a student of English while making dinner tonight. Her English is much stronger than our Polish. I guess Poland is playing Austria tonight, which we may watch with them.

The first night we were here Poland was crushed by Germany and it was super loud all night. POLSKA! POLSKA! We will see how it is tonight.

This is the physics building. We walk past it every day on our way to the math building. It is horrendous. It is covered with scaffolding, which makes me hope that they are trying to make it look less like it was built as a bomb shelter during the Cold War.

The building is not really relevant to anything, but these are the only two pictures I took today.
